Between Here and the Horizon Review
Title: Between Here and the Horizon
Author: Callie Hart
That is how to start a book! First chapter absolutely sucked me in!
I read through over 60% of the book in one big binge and couldn’t wait to go back in for more.
I love Ophelia, her relationship with Rose, Sully and the kids is amazing! She is very well grounded, and her confusion, lust, indifference and every other feeling you can imagine feels genuine and honest. She could be you, or she could be your neighbour.
The men in this book are a little less like anyone I’ve ever met before. But then I’ve never lived on a tiny island, or spend time with many military men. They are fantastic; deep, honest (let’s be fair a bit too honest some times, cocky and arrogant. Everything you like in your run away bad boy.
The connection between them is immense, almost palpable through the book. A twisting, turning tornado of lust slowly changing and dissipating into loss or love.
An amazingly written book that grabs you at page one and doesn’t let you go til the very end of the last page. This was my first Callie Hart book, I can’t wait to see what’s next 🙂

“You think you know me. You think you want to know me. But trust me, Miss Lang. Pursuing me will be the worst mistake you ever make. I’m broken beyond repair…
…and I take great pleasure in breaking everyone else around me.”
Ophelia Lang needs money, and she needs it bad. Her parent’s restaurant is going under, and ever since she lost her job teaching third grade elementary, scraping enough cash together to pay the bills has proven almost impossible. Her parents are on the brink of losing their home. The vultures are circling overhead. So when Ophelia is offered an interview for a well-paid private tutoring gig in New York, how can she possibly say no?
Ronan Fletcher is far from the overweight, balding businessman Ophelia expected him to be. He’s young, handsome, and wealthy beyond all reason. He’s also perhaps the coldest, rudest person she’s ever met, and has a mean streak in him a mile and a half wide. A hundred grand is a lot of money, however, and if tolerating his frosty temperament, his erratic mood swings and whatever else he throws at her means she’ll get paid, then that is what Ophelia will do.
Her new boss is keeping secrets, though. Awful, terrible secrets.
The ghosts of Ronan Fletcher’s past are about to turn Ophelia’s future upside down, and she can’t even see it coming.

The Silver Swan Review
Title: The Silver Swan
Author: Amo Jones
Well I almost didn’t read this one! After all the crazy with Raze and Millie in Razing Grace part 1 (http://amzn.eu/b4TxQbX)and part 2 (hrtp://amzn.to/2fAmUdg)and the warning about how dark and twisty this was. I have to admit… I was worried!
How much further can this crazy woman go! I mean we are running out of crazy sh*t to do here! It’s not dark in a Raze kind of way, and not twisty in a Beast kind of way. But is still both those things.
Madison is a new girl at a new school and the Elite Kings are this wierd sort of non gang, well … gang. They seem a bit strange, but then people with that much money often are.
The dynamic between Nate and Madison is great, really light and casual, they could almost be brother and sister. You know, without the fighting, and the casual incestuous joke lol
The ever brooding Brantley and increasing connection with Bishop draws you in and keeps the pages turning.
It’s not as dark as I was expecting, but I think the next book will be! This really lays the foundations down for who she thinks she is, who she is now, and has been for the past 17 years. Years that are now thrown into complete turmoil.
There are hints all the way through about the impending explosion and the build up is amazing. There are some hot as f*ck sex scenes, as to be expected, and a really great pace to the book.
You are left reeling and waiting on bated breath for the next installment. Don’t be put off by the disclaimer, this is not as scary as you think. Just be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster!
Another amazing book by Amo Jones. I cannot wait for book 2!

This is book three in the Wicked Ever After series, see the reviews for the previous books here;
1 – Wicked Charming Review
2 –Wicked Beast Review
We’ve seen a Dom, a sub and now a switch. I love being able to see both sides of the coin. His absolute need to submit and release tension as much a part of him as his need to seize control.
What a fabulous little read, great sex scenes and an eye opening look into life on both sides of the coin.
I have to say that I think this was my favourite book of the series. I loved being able to see the middle of the road with him. I felt his turmoil about being in love with Scarlett and not being able to have her, while being undeniably drawn to her partner.
This book kept the pages turning and I finished it in one quick read through. A fun, feisty read for your weekend!

Charles “Wolf” Blackwood likes the game. He likes chasing a new girl every week, loves seducing them and earning their trust. He doesn’t like to keep them.
But Scarlet is different–she always has been.
The chase has never been quite as intoxicating as it is with her, the feisty sub with an innocent streak a mile wide. He wants to keep her, but Scarlet already has a Dom, and Hunter has no intentions of giving her up.
But Wolf is in for a surprise when he realize Scarlet doesn’t want one of them.
She’s playing to keep them both.

It’s the dirtiest fairy tale of all….
Charm. Beast. Wolf.
Everyone in the Kingdom–an exclusive, decadent BDSM club–knows the three friends and business partners.
But no one has ever gotten close enough to touch them.
Sex is easy, even when it hurts. It’s all any of them wanted.
Love is off the table.
Love is the thing none of them ever saw coming.
In the Kingdom, control is everything. Who wields it and who surrenders.
But some things even they can’t control.
Welcome to the Kingdom, where every happily ever after hurts in the most wicked of ways.

Wicked Beast Review

This is the second in the Wicked Ever After series, read the review of book one here:
Another fast and furious mini book!
I really enjoyed seeing into the mind of the male submissive, it’s not something often written about. It was much easier to ease straight into this book, having already read book 1 I know own the characters and who they are.
I liked the snippets into his history with Mal and how the boys protect Beast even though he isn’t there’s to protect. I liked the dynamic between Beauty and Beast and the reveal was fantastic!
There was scope to do loads with this book, if the author had wanted to make it full length there’s definitely the ability to here.
I liked how clear it was that this is a two way relationship and just because he is submissive does not mean that he is unimportant in this. That actually his wants and needs are paramount and it is only when they are being met properly that a true relationship and bond can be forged.
A fab sneek peek looking forward to the next installment.

James “Beast” Lutz isn’t like his friends.
He doesn’t crave control the way Charm and Mal do, and he doesn’t play the games Wolf thrives on.
He lives on his knees, all of his strength bent to the will of his Domme.
He’s never regretted that, until now.
Now, when he’s trapped in an arrangement serving a Domme who can’t keep a sub.
Now, when he’s not sure how to trust a woman wrapped in mystery and less sure he wants to.
But the more he gets to know the Domme everyone knows as Beauty, the more Beast realizes everything he thought he knew was wrong.

Fear You Review
Title: Fear You
Author: Bebe Reid
This is book 2 of the Broken Love Series, read my first review here:
1 – Fear Me Review
Well it didn’t even review book one before diving straight into this bad boy!
What an amazing conclusion to Kieran and Lakes story. This is an emotional rollercoaster and absolutely worth every second of the craziness!
We meet some new characters while some others fall to the wayside. There is plenty set up for subsequent books and loads of people I’d like to see more of!
I loved that Lake grew a pair for this book! No longer was she going to allow herself to be pushed around- go on girl! It didn’t always work in her favour but she did it.
I often found myself cursing them both; if she just or if he just, why can’t they just … this story definately kept the pages turning!
A fantastic point to close their story and look to another couple for their Broken Love!

But Lake experienced what it was like to submit to the dark and demanding boy who invaded her dreams. Now she’ll experience what it’s like to fight him.

As secrets unfold,
Identities are revealed,
Danger closes in,
And they both discover what it really means to fear…

Fear Me Review
Title: Fear Me
Author: BeBe Reid
This is book one of the Broken love series.
Well I loved it!
I’ve never read anything by BB before. She’s coming to FBBF17 so I downloaded this when it was on offer and it’s been sat in my kindle waiting for a rainy day.
I was looking for something a bit different and this caught my eye, not sure why, could be the sexy fella on the front!
I’m really glad it did. What an amazing story. Dark and twisted with light scattered throughout, this is the starscape of the book world.
Kieran; the tormentor, the tormented, infatuated, obsessed, confused. He is dark and intense, brooding and dominant, creating his own submissive without even realising he’s doing it.
Lake; the sweetness and light of our story. I love the peeks into her psyche in this book, the way we can see and feel along side her the barriers coming down and the breaking of spirit.
This is a fantastically twisted tale, the storytelling is amazing and the rollercoaster is just beginning!
It was so good I didn’t even stop to write the review before ploughing straight into book 2! Loved it!
Blurb
This isn’t another “I hate you because I secretly love you” story.
Boy really does hate girl.
And this isn’t just a forbidden love story.
This is obsession at its darkest.
I don’t believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming.
I believe in fear.
He taught me how to be afraid.
We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn’t be the last. For ten years, he’s been my tormentor and I’ve been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid.
Now he’s back and wants more than just my tears. You see…he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge…and he knows just how to get it.

El Diablo Review
Title: El Diablo
Author: M Robinson
This is a spin off from the good old boys series.
M. Robinson is one of the authors coming to FBBF17 in November so I’ve had her on my TBR for a while. When this came out I loved the cover and so many people raved about it that when I got the chance I read it!
I really liked the writing style and it has a fabulous ending. It felt to take a long time to get there. I’ll. other sure if it is just a long book but it felt to take a long time to get from the beginning to the end.
I guess timeliness wise it did, her entire lifetime and before. The story felt a bit circular and the same things kept happening. It’s all explained eventually but some of it felt a bit unnecessary, it didn’t expand the story any further and so I’m not sure if it was needed.
The writing is great though; very descriptive, and there is a good flow throughout the book. There are some references that I didn’t get, having not read the main series, but that just means I need to read the main series too lol
For me, it didn’t live up to the expectation, but I may have built it up too much before reading. Also, having not read the main series I don’t know the writers style as well as I might. Perhaps this shouldn’t have been my first book by this author. That’s not her fault, just an error on my part.
As I say the writing is good, but read the main series first!

I was ruthless.
I was feared.
I had sacrificed. Myself. Her. Everything…
Living in a world where I was worth more dead than alive was a choice. I was a bad man, never claimed to be anything else. I’ve done things I’m not proud of. Seen things that can’t be unseen. I’ve caused pain that I can’t undo.
It was all my choice.
Every decision.
Every order.
Right and wrong never mattered.
Until her.
She was under my protection, until she became my obsession.
But who was going to save her…
From. Me. The devil himself.
Fate brought us together. Destiny destroyed us.

Surrendering Review
Title: Surrendering
Author: Michelle Horst
Well, if I’m being honest. I had never heard of Michelle Horst before last week. A fellow blogger posted up looking for people to share some info on a new and exciting book. A book that has been banned by Amazon 😮 sounds like my cup of tea!
Having done some posting and sharing of the live links I really liked the synopsis and decided to give it a go myself!
And I’m really glad I did! This was a fabulous story and very well written. I absolutely flew through it and will be reading more by Michelle!
A lovely gentle story of learning to love and to trust. When your ability to trust is broken, it break something within you that is really hard to repair. When there is no one there willing and/or able to help you repair those broken pieces, well … we don’t all recover from that.
With a lot of time, and patience, these two try to repair their broken pieces. But just like feathers in the wind, are they destined to stick together, or fall apart. What was once strong on the bird is now lose and drifting, will their romance be fleeting as the wind?
This was really beautifully put together, an absolutely fantastic read!

***The Book that’s too hot to handle is back!***
Liam Wright is the playboy at college. He’s part of the screw-crew.
It’s better to stay away from him, but you can’t tell your heart what to want.
He’ll judge me.
He won’t understand.
It’s easy to judge someone because of their past. I’m scared Liam will be just like all the other people.
But he doesn’t judge me. He comes into my life and refuses to leave. He doesn’t give up on me.
He helps me accept the guilt that lives inside of me, because it also lives inside of him.
We’re both damaged by the past.
We’re both looking for someone who will understand.
We’re both looking for someone we can surrender to.
But it’s hard surrendering all your broken pieces.
“Some feathers will fall along the way, but new ones will always grow back. It doesn’t make the old feathers less important because they kept you flying for so long – they kept you alive.”
