Malaise Review

Title: Malaise

Author: Max Henry

This is a standalone novel.

A fabulous story of love, life and loss. It’s safe to say that the majority of us have encountered loss in one way or another through our lives but never with such crazy consequences.

We meet Meg as she learns of her brothers passing and what a spiral we go on! What do you do when the people you love don’t know who you are? When all they see is the facade you’ve built?

When there is no where to go but up, that’s where you go!

Brett Carver has been through some stuff in his 24 years that’s for certain. Born on the wrong side of the tracks, he’s lied, cheated, stolen and fought his way through life so far. When he crosses path with Meg his life changes in more than one way, but is it all for the better?

There are some fabulously steamy moments in this book as well as a great story. This is not the authors usual darker genre story but definitely includes plenty of harrowing moments, will true love conquer all? Or is this just another childhood crush?

I think it’s safe to say our sultry, sexy, bad boy rocks at baking and I love our rocker chick. Completely relate able characters on a whirlwind ride, another fantastic job from Max Henry!

Blurb

Final exams and end of year parties don’t seem so important at your brother’s funeral.

Two short weeks, and Meg would have survived her senior year relatively unscathed. But when her best and only friend—her brother—dies in a questionable road accident, being the loner in her year doesn’t fit as well as it used to.

One act of kindness from the man her small town isolated amidst rumors and lies, and her hope for a day where pain won’t overwhelm her doesn’t seem so far-fetched. Brett Carver is trouble with a capital T, but he’s also the only person who can get Meg to let go and smile.

Some good things are never meant to last.

Arrested for a crime he didn’t commit, the man who finally found a way to bring light back to her dark days is ripped away when she needs him most. Determined not to lose the only good thing to have come out of her year from hell, Meg sets out to prove Brett isn’t guilty. But first, she must accept the ugly truth …

… that the people who can prove his innocence are the same people who will do all it takes to keep them apart.

Inked Review

Title: Inked
Author: Willow Winters & Lauren Landish

This is a standalone novel

This is a fab, fun, flirty little read. Perfect for a night in with a bubble bath and a glass of wine! I ran through this in one session, its fast paced excitement from the get go.

I loved the connection between the two main characters and the push pull dynamic. There are plenty of hot scenes as well as a great story and lots of excitement.

Zane is all alpha male, he see’s what he wants and he goes for it, lets be fair he’s hot, he’s not turned down very often! So when he see’s a new girl in town he fancies a go! I love how territorial he is over her, jealous alpha male is HOT!!

She is not going to give in to his charms just because, she knows he is a bad boy and he is going to get her in trouble, she doesn’t need it and she doesn’t want it. Or does she?

Will they ever manage to get it together, will she ever succumb to his charms? Or are they destined to be lovers at a distance?

Blurb

One look, and panties drop. One night, and they’re ready to marry me.

Too bad I’m not interested in anything more than a taste.

Until I’m tempted by Little Miss Goody-Two-Shoes. She’s a good girl, the kind I want to possess, dominate, ruin. No one’s ever told me no, and I’m not about to let it stop me now.

She keeps pushing me away, even with her curvy body pressed against mine and those soft moans spilling from her lips.

But I’m persistent. She doesn’t stand a chance. And now that she’s moved in next door, it’s only a matter of time before I’ll have her screaming my name.

She can try to run, but she’s not getting away from the bad boy next door.

*Inked is a full-length standalone romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger. Contains TWO Bonus Books. Relentless from Lauren Landish and Dirty Dom from Willow Winters. Also contains a teaser from our next collaboration at the end!

Made To Suffer Review

Title: Made to Suffer
Author: Golden Czermak

This is Book 3 in The Journeymen Series, find reviews for previous books here:

1 – Homeward Bound Review

2 – Seal of Solomon Review

Well he’s only gone and done it again, another roller coaster of a ride with Gage Crosse!

I really like the descriptive style of writing in this series, it’s just amazing and drags you in to the thick of the action. Cinemagraphic in nature you could almost be stood in the story with him.

This book sees us step back a little from Gage and Ady, let’s be fair they’ve had enough drama so far! While still following our original trio, now a quartet, through their adventures we also get to see what is happening in the wider world. A fabulous following with the Elven Kingdom and all the excitement happening for Demon kind.

I know you are not supposed to like the baddies but Dajjal is awesome! He comes in and kicks ass and completely rocks it. There are some fabulous scenes from him and I am really looking forward to reading what comes next.

There are subtle hints throughout of what may or may not come next and some very close to life characters. This is a complete roller coaster of a ride and takes you through every emotion and back.

Once again we are all left waiting to see what is next round the corner.

Ready for Book 4. Like tomorrow.

Never Wed an Outlaw Review

Title: Never Wed an Outlaw
Author: Nicole Snow

This is a standalone book but is part of a group of books written around the same MC

The author actually got in touch with me and asked me to read and review this book as a standalone which was really exciting. It meant going in that I knew nothing about the book, or the author, or what was going on here so there were absolutely no expectations.

That being said, this book is action from the very beginning! There is a hot hot biker man, a lovely girl we can all relate to, scary mafia family. There is love, there is loss and there is everything inbetween this book really caters for everything and everyone!

I absolutely loved Dusty, I loved the way we delved into his past throughout the book, how he opened himself up to love and never gave up. Where some men would have taken the out offered he stood up and was counted. He never held anything back, with his girl, with his family, with his MC, not always upfront but no holds barred. He loves deep, once its earned.

I am a big MC fan, I love the family that surrounds them, that becomes a part of who they are and their own stories all intermingle. But I also like that this isn’t*just* an MC story, there is a mafia angle, bits about his and her past coming back up. It’s a great mix of bits and very well written.

There were a few things that have obviously happened in other books in the series that didn’t make full sense to me. They were touched on but not in depth, obviously *you had to be there* kind of moments, they informed but didn’t take over any of the scenes so that was fine.

I am really looking forward to being able to read other books in this series too!

I’M PREGNANT, ON THE RUN, AND WEARING HIS RING…

HANNAH

How the hell did I get here?

Oh, right – Daniel “Dust” Grayson. Scariest, sexiest man alive. The only man who’s ever stolen my panties, lured me into his bed, and left me begging for more.

This isn’t what you’re thinking. Yes, he’s an outlaw. Trouble incarnate on two towering legs and the hottest smirk south of the Mason-Dixon line. But I’m not in a world of hurt because he’s President of the Deadly Pistols MC, or because my big brother is his right hand man – hello, drama!

No, Dust tried to save me from myself. I can’t let my secrets kill him.

It’s time to forget everything: his love, his kisses, raising the baby he’ll never know together.

Never wed an outlaw. A broken heart was my wedding present, and now it’s my only defense…

DUST

Hannah was my biggest mistake. Ain’t every day a man claims a girl, shoves his ring on her finger, and tells her she’s his ’til the end of time. I had it all, blind to the storm approaching.

Then she disappeared. She forgot about us.

I’ll die before I let her. Darlin’, I’m coming.

Don’t care if my best friend is her kin, and he wants to rip my head off.

Don’t care if she’s a hostage to the meanest crew I ever laid eyes on.

Don’t care if I have to move heaven, hell, and everything in between to bring her home.

If Hannah’s a mistake, I’m owning up. Every single inch of her, every kiss, every damned day. She made me crave the whole package, a wife and kids, like a man needs air.

I can’t stop. I won’t go back. She’s coming back to my arms, or I’ll rip this wicked world limb from limb.

This is a stand alone romance novel with a hard-to-get runaway bride like no other! No cliffhangers, no cheating, and SCORCHING heat advisory. Yes to babies, outlaws, and Happily Ever Afters. This is Dust and Hannah’s story in the Deadly Pistols MC series.

Savage Beast Review

Title: Savage Beast
Author: Charleigh Rose

I haven’t read anything by this author before so it was a bit stepping out in to the dark but mobster, fighter, tattooed, muscled bad boy, what can go wrong right?

The introduction to the couple was great, told us a bit about his past but not a great deal about her and fed that in throughout the book. I like that he had to chase her and prove his worth before it went any further. Once they got together the chemistry was off the charts and there were plenty of hot sex scenes to keep you going.

This is definitely an evening in with a glass of wine kind of book, nice easy read. Nothing too deep and involved. A good little read.

Blurb

I dated a mobster. A monster. A maniac.
He left me scarred, marred and done with men in general. The last thing I needed was another man in the very same lifestyle. I might let Cole Savage into my bedroom, but I can’t let him into my heart.

Cole

She’s been hurt before. She thinks I’ll hurt her again.
Problem is, I’m not the one who is trying to hurt her.
Her ex-boyfriend is a part of the Lucky Lucianos, an up-and-coming Italian mafia in New York city. He thought he could get away with what he did to her, but he won’t be so lucky when I get my hands on him.

Depths of Salvation Review

Title: Depths of Salvation
Author: Molly E Lee

This is a standalone book.

I haven’t read anything by Molly before, she is one of the authors coming to FBBF17 and was kind enough to giveaway a copy of her book, that I won.

From the cover I guessed (read assumed) that this was a gentler story than I usually read and would be more romance based with less action content, but boy was I wrong!

Connell is cold and closed off to the world. He has been hurt in the past and he is definitely not interested in repeating those mistakes! I get where he is coming from, and I completely love the character that he unfolds to be.

Sadie is a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and is not afraid to work for it. She has worked long and hard to get respect with the locals as well as in her profession. That familiarity helps her out in more than one way throughout this ordeal.

There is a great story running though here with some fabulous secondary characters. I really enjoyed the way the story unfolded and the twists and turns within. It would have been nice to see a little of Sadie’s past, I know who she is now and what she stands for but what made her that way, how did she get to where she is. We know a lot about Connell and how and why he has come to be where he is but we don’t really know much about Sadie’s history.

That being said, I read the book in one sitting. It absolutely captivated my imagination and drew me in to this amazing under water world. I really enjoyed the story and am looking forward to reading more from Molly E Lee before the signing next year 🙂

Blurb

Sadie Jenkins’ most recent site of preservation is a sunken WWII cargo ship off the coast of the Bahamas. When a giant corporation threatens to blow it up to make way for an underwater gas pipeline, Sadie is forced to prove to the Head of Government the importance and value of her site. And when assistance comes from a bad-boy welder who works for the corporation, she ends up battling not only the people trying to demolish her site, but her heart as well—because its latched on to the one man who can save her ship or destroy it. Connell Murphey is the best underwater welder this side of the Atlantic and thrives when the stakes are highest. When Slade Industries offers him a dangerous gig with a big pay off, he can’t wait to sign on. When a local marine preservationist gives Slade trouble—her site’s protection would cost him millions to go around it instead of through it—Slade offers Connell the deal of a lifetime: twelve million has his name on it if he gets close to Sadie and testifies to the Head of Government that her site isn’t worth saving. Should be easy money. That is, until he meets Sadie. She’s a force to be reckoned with and the only woman who has ever been able to not only keep pace with him on a dive but completely surpass him on every level. She’s smart, sexy, and their chemistry is off the charts. The more he gets to know her, the harder he falls but he’s already in too deep with the deal he made with Slade. When the time comes, will he be able to turn down the money and choose the girl of his dreams, or will too many lies kill his only chance at forever?

Nitro’s Torment Review

Title: Nitro’s Torment
Author: Nina Levine

This is book 2 in the Sydney Storm MC Series, read the review for Book 1; Relent:
Relent Review

Well Sydney certainly is a whole other kind of crew, if you thought you had met bad boys before, you were wrong! These guys take it to the edge!

Nitro is the business end of the club. He sold his soul to the devil, so to speak, many years ago and has been part of the life for a long time. He goes in, does the business and gets out. There is no space in his world for mediocrity, he loves fearlessly and mercilessly those of his inner circle, but woe betide anyone who crosses him.

Tatum Lee has not had life easy, hers was not handed on a silver plate and she has fought hard and long to get where she is. Stable enough in her position to be comfortable without being completely at risk. Well at least until the day her revenge takes a turn for the worst and she is left at the hands of an unknown. Is the enemy of my enemy my friend?

Two hard headed, strong spirited warriors thrown together and forced to get along. Would the close quarters compound the issue into charcoal, or create a diamond? They have both been through difficult times in their lives and neither are interested in letting their walls down and a stranger in.

This is a fabulous tale of life, love and loss. Its absolutely action packed; we are thrown into the middle of a war, plus fall out from action in Relent and new things thrown up in this book too. Nina manages to take you through the emotional wringer at the same time though! There is such an amazing depth to these characters that you can’t help but love them by the end. Stubborn, single minded, aggressive people that live in such dark worlds and yet hold so much light and love.

It is a twisted tale indeed, one that “left soul prints on me”. I can completely see why Nina left a part of herself in this book, it takes some amazing skill to write this depth yet keep it light. I have come away looking forward to the next book, not bogged down in the dirty world I’ve inhabited for the last day or two, but excited about what is to come next!

Another fantastic addition to the Storm MC Series, can’t wait for book 3!

Blurb

Tatum Lee is a pain in my ass.
She’s stubborn, full of attitude, and she doesn’t like to do what she’s told.
And yet, at a time when I should be focusing on the war my club is at, she consumes my mind because she’s also fearless and fierce, and I’ve never met a woman like her.

The thing about war, though, is the minute you let your focus drop, your enemy rises up and attacks. And sometimes they bring you to your knees in ways you never imagined.

The other thing about war? You learn just what you’re capable of doing to protect those you love.

Relent Review

Title: Relent
Author: Nina Levine

This is book 1 in the Sydney Storm MC Series

Well this is definitely Storm MC, but grittier! There are hot men galore and plenty of action taking you through the story.

The chemistry between Kick and Evie is off the charts! I love a good second chance romance and this story really wins it!

Okay, so, Kick Hanson is all bad boy! He does plenty of bad things to plenty of bad people, but, he has this secret little nice streak. He’s involved in the rescues that go on, helping domestic abuse victims, that we have seen in the original Storm MC Series. Like all MC men he is big, bad, tattooed, muscles with a mean streak that you don’t want to cross. Yet for some reason, around our little Evie, he goes all soft and mushy!

Evie is the sweet little girl next door, she fell in love with the boy who rescued her. The boy who looked after her as an adolescent, stood up for her and protected her against everything, even herself. When he needed to protect her from himself he did the hardest thing and let her go. But would this be a decision he would come to regret?

This is a fabulous story of true love, fast paced and full of action but with chemistry. There are some amazingly hot scenes, as one would expect with any foul mouthed dirty biker man, gently tempered by a softer side. There is a great rhythm to the story and I am really looking forward to reading more about these HOT biker men!

Blurb

A biker torn between loyalty to his club and love for his woman.

Kick Hanson’s life follows a dangerous path that leads him to the Storm Motorcycle Club where he spends his days buried deep in a violent and lawless world that is slowly consuming his soul. He fights against bringing the one woman he’s ever loved into this world. Until the day he knows he can’t live without her.

Evie Bishop has always loved Kick but she’s done. Even though they’ve loved each other through both happiness and heartbreak, she believes their chance to be together has long passed.

When Kick finally stakes his claim, will Evie relent and give their love another go, or has Kick left it too long to go after the woman who has owned his heart forever?

For every first love that became an endless love
For every good girl that’s wanted to claim the heart of a bad boy
For every broken childhood
For the sins of the fathers
For never giving up and never letting go
For every tragedy that made strong survivors
For friendships that survive beyond the grave
For brotherhoods, family and loyalty
For picking up the pieces and moving forward
For relenting to forever and always
For knowing there is no such thing as ‘happily ever afters’ outside of Disney Movies but looking to together forever none the less….

A story that has to be read to be appreciated. Nina Levine has done it again, an MC full of hot, sexy Alpha Males that brings passion to your fingertips, a dampness to your panties and tugs at your heart strings….. ~ Amazon Reviewer

Kingpin Review

Title: Kingpin
Author: WS Greer

This is Book 1 of a duet series – An Italian Mafia Romance.

Well its safe to say that I absolutely loved this book!

What an absolutely fabulous couple! Having met Isabel and Wes on their FBBF17 author announcement I have to wonder how much of this bears resemblance to the authors own life. The connection between such young love is fantastic and as a man who met his love at a young age, hopefully some of this is semi biographical – did say some!

Oh what an absolute sweetie Dominic is! He comes in and saves her from the nasty bully, he rescues her, and when he gest in trouble for it, he just brushes it off as part of life. This is who he is, this is a little bit what we all hope and dream for. A man who will come in and rescue us in our time of need, who will do the right thing no matter the consequences, and not be downtrodden or disheartened if he is reprimanded for it.

There is an unwritten connection between Dominic and Alannah, it doesn’t need words because you can feel it through the pages (or screen if you are e-readering as I was). The young affection, the unwavering trust, the lust and love that follows. Are these just the feelings of two young people or are these soul mates being torn apart?

What will happen in their time apart? Will Dominic meet another woman? There must be plenty in the lifestyle he lives, what if someone else grabs his attention? What if some lovely man offers to keep Alannah warm on those cold lonely nights in Alaska? So many questions about what will happen in their time apart. Will this distance show their feelings for what her parents fear? young and misguided, blinded by lust?

I loved the connection between them, how even after 10 years they can sit together and laugh, they can talk about anything. How Dominic is willing and able to tell her anything she needs, but will also keep her safe from dangerous information. I loved the strength and integrity of Alannah. As a child she stood by Dominic, despite what other people thought or said. Even when he did bad things, for the right reasons, she stood by him.

This was a fabulous journey with a great ending and I’m really looking forward to reading the next installment!

Blurb

Alannah Sullivan met Dominic Collazo when she was only in the fifth grade. She knew him when the other kids called him names and made fun of his over-sized facial features. She knew him when he was a shy introvert with a quick temper. She knew him when he was first introduced to the mob lifestyle by his father, a made man in the St. Louis mafia. Alannah knew Dominic before anybody could see his potential, and she fell in love with him when she was just a teenager… just in time for her family to pack up and move away from the city and the boy she loved.

But, Alannah is back now, and after ten long years, Dominic Collazo is all grown up. No longer the quiet loner, Dominic is larger than life, and every woman’s fantasy. He’s a rich casino owner with the looks of a Greek god, and an alpha male persona to die for. He’s also a captain in the notorious Giordano crime family.

When the two of them meet again in the lobby of Lumiere Place Casino & Hotel, Alannah has no idea that her second chance with Dominic will also be her biggest curse. As drama immediately ensues and bullets start to fly, Alannah has to ask herself if Dominic is worth all the trouble that comes with him.

Would you risk everything to be with the love of your life, even if he’s the mafia’s newest KINGPIN?
