The Fortunates by Skyla Madi

Steal My Breath by Nina Levine
The Beast by JR Ward

and obviously I’m waiting for the next installment of the fabulous Ashton Scott!

The Fortunates by Skyla Madi

This is the sequel to The Unfortunates which is a really great read taking us into a dystopian society, I will be reviewing this again for here before the Fortunates is released 28th May 2016. I absolutely loved the first book and have been waiting, not so patiently, for this one!

River Savage Hetch

Hetch by River Savage

Not only is the cover amazing, the stunning Chase Ketron, but the book inside is guaranteed to be HOT! This is the first in a new series by the lovely River Savage, a change of subcategory from her Knights Rebels MC series, that is being eagerly awaited by me and the rest of the fans releasing 11th May 🙂

Chelle Bliss Honor Me

Honor me by Chelle Bliss

This is book six in the Men of Inked series, you may have read my review of Resisting by Chelle Bliss, which is a novella linked to this series. I am hoping to go back through the other books before this releases on 10th May and get reviews up here too.

Kit Rocha Beyond Ecstacy (8)

Beyond Ecstacy by Kit Rocha

This is book eight in the Beyond Series, this is written by a team of two women and published under the name Kit Rocha. This is a series of books written in a post apolcalyptic world and these books are based in Sector Four. I have really enjoyed the series and they are still in the process of writing this one, so I might have time to review the other books before this releases later on this summer.

The Beast by JR Ward

This has already released and I am waiting on getting a copy. I have really enjoyed the other books in this series (Black Dagger Brotherhood) and this will be book number 16. These are some seriously manly vampires! When I first started the books I thought, oh here we go, another series of books with wimpy emo vampires – boy was I wrong!

The Fortunates ARC

Well I was just talking to Skyla Madi on Facebook, like you do, you know pretending to be cool while having a really girly super excited little happy dance to myself LOL and asked her for the release date for The Fortunates and she is very graciously sending me an ARC out to review!

To say I am excited is the biggest understatement of the year! I am disappearing into The Unfortunates in preparation for The Fortunates coming later today … see you all on the other side!

Resisting Review

Title: Resisting
Author: Chelle Bliss
Cover: MG Book Covers

This is a novella, part of the Men of Inked series, looking at when Izzy and James met at a wedding 🙂

I love Izzy and James! I knew this was going to be one super hot get together and it certainly didn’t disappoint!

They are both such strong characters it was always going to be an explosive combination and having read about their meet in some of the other books it was clear that this was going to be amazing!

It was fabulous to be able to see the lead up and a snippet into her and flash but get a really good look at what she sees in him and him in her in their first few conversations. I enjoyed their book and the banter between them, it’s lovely to see the fun in this budding ‘relationship’ and look forward to seeing where they end up x

Blood and Rust Review

Title: Blood and Rust
Author: Skyla Madi
Limitless Publishing, second print edition, April 2016

I am a big fan of the new cover design, not only is it much clearer that this is part of a series but I also love the new style and suitably hot model on the front 🙂

The story is essentially the same as the original with a few adjustments, it feels to be a bit steadier in pace, although that could just be because I’ve read it before and I am less voraciuos for the words this time.

This is a fabulous novella that leads you very temptingly through in to the next book and is very cleverly written. I love how you can see this is part of a bigger picture now, in the first edition it was less obvious that this little soire was part of something bigger, but that gives it a bit more of an edge than it previuosly had, for me at least.

Jai, of course, is still a force to be reckoned with. A man on a mission, set out with one destination in mind. When he accidentally bumped into Emily he sent them both down an unexpected path. In this book he is quite quiet and it would have been lovely to have a bit of dual POV and see what is working through his mind.

I am a big Emily fan, she see’s the beauty in things that I would have never seen. She is a little niaive and innocent for someone who has been through what she has in her childhood, and I expected a bit more cynicism from her character. She is by no means a pushover though and has the strength of will and determination to make the best of a bad situation. She is one of my favourite female characters – and I’ve read a few 🙂

We’ve now got to wait for the second book in the new series to be released … hopefully soon!

Broken Review

Before I move on to review Blood and Rust I thought it would be worth having a look back to see what I thought about the original version and have a look and what/how its changed. Lets remember that this is one of the first books I ever wrote a review of .. so its brief LOL

Title: Broken
Author: Skyla Madi

Absolutely loved this book and flew through it in one evening.

What an amazing view of a difficult place.

We can all relate to feeling at the end of our tether and sometimes you’ve got to let the darkness in to begin heal. I love how Emily can see the beauty in everything and Jai`s character evolving. The inner strength that we all have can be difficult to tap in to but Jai has a wonderful way of bringing this out in Emily.

I can’t wait to sink my teeth in to Round Two!

broken

Broken

Broken is a book by Skyla Madi, it is the first in a series of eight novellas that she is writing. Recently she sold the rights to this set to Limitless Publishing and this first book has been re released under its new title ‘Blood and Rust’ with an additional 8000 words!

I really enjoyed Broken the first time round and am in the process of reading Blood and Rust. I love the two main characters, they are very chalk and cheese at this point, I will post up the full review once I’ve finished but Emily is one of my favourite female characters. Her strength of will and ability to see beauty in even the darkest place is truly enviable 🙂

Keep your eyes open for the full review being posted soon! When the baby gives me chance to finish readying the book LOL

Well today I read nothing!

I have not had 2 minutes to sit down with a book all day! Every now and again this happens so you’ll have to forgive me!

There have been a few exciting things happen in Facebook today which is cool. Nina Levine is having another 12 author give away which is really cool, I’m already signed up to her newsletter but anyone that likes romance novels aught to be signed up to this – go find her and do it!

The other thing is the release date for Honor Me by Chelle Bliss is only 7 days away and she is promoting at the minute. I have been reading this set recently and ready enjoying them. I will be going back through to review for on here shortly x

21 Shades of Night

The lovely Skyla Madi has just posted up a link for a new compilation of books being released in July. 21 books for just 99p! I’ve pre ordered mine, really looking forward to reading something a little different, its all paranormal romance, and if the standard of Skyla’s writing is anything to go by this will be amazing!

While we are talking about Skyla Madi, she is getting the first reviews back for ‘The Fortunates’ and some of those are looking really good! I first read ‘The Unfortunates’ thinking it was a standalone book and not realising that there would be a second one until the end. Needless to say I was devastated and have been waiting, on bated breath, for the second book and am stupidly, rediculously excited about this release!

I will be re reading and reviewing ‘The Unfortunates’ again before this one hits my kindle!

Ashton Scott …

Well I guess we aught to start with what I am reading at the minute!

The lovely Nina Levine is back and well on form showing us a new way to write and read books – she is teasing the faithful followers each week with a little snippet of the book. Not just a teaser here and a teaser there in preparation for a book launch but actually sending the book in tiny chunks out to her readers!

This is such a fabulous way to do a book, albeit a touch evil. Us, the readers, are on tenterhooks waiting for the next installment.

I have just received, and read through my 4 month olds nap, Episode 3 of the wonderful Ashton Scott. Let me tell you about Ashton … he is your stereotypical born into money man. He knows what he wants and he is going to get it. Nobody says NO to Ashton Scott. I have a funny feeling that under all that there is a heart of gold. Last week we saw snippets of how he loves deeply those in his inner circle; his best friend Jack and his sister and children and I can see our leading lady falling head over heels for that, if she ever gets close enough.

The lovely Lorelei is new in this big bad business world and is not cut from the same cloth. She is sweet and gentle and trying to find her way in this world, but make no mistake, she is not a pushover! She has a big heart, one that is worn on her sleeve, and that may be her downfall as we go on through the episodes.

So this week Ashton has talked Lorelei into going out for lunch, he of course has taken her to a fabulous restaurant and she has drunk more wine than she aught to. He has sought her out and seen a little of the person she is, the kind person helping a friend, before sweeping her off her feet at lunch. She has got to see a little of the, hopefully, ‘real’ Ashton hidden underneath the business exterior and likes it! Of course, there is a spark between them, one that she is denying and he is hoping is just the thrill of the chase. I am really looking forward to seeing where this story goes and the ups and downs that come through before their Happily Ever After – but i’ve got to wait another week before the next Ashton Episode 😦
