Defy

Title: Defy

Author: LJ Shen

This is the second book in the Sinners of Saint series, read my review for book one here:

1 –

Having read books one and three this was the perfect filler piece! It filled in all the gaps about what happened with Mel and Jamie and how they got to be where they are.

We learn a little bit about Trent, we see an outside view of the Dean/Millie/Vicious triangle as well as a finding out about the secretive game of Defy.

Jamie is no average 18 year old bloke. He’s one of the Four HotHoles; young, privileged, golden boy. He drinks, he f*cks, he does what he likes and to hell with anyone who doesn’t like it. They run this town.

When his eyes fall to a certain beauty who is struggling with life, love and everything inbetween – what kind of a man would he be if he didn’t help her out a little?

I really enjoyed it and loved filling in the gaps. Hopefully we see what is going to happen with Trent next!

Hydes Absolution

Title: Hydes Absolution

Author: Nina Levine

This is book four of the Sydney Storm MC series, see my other reviews here:

1 –

I finished this book a couple of days ago and have been struggling to find the right words to put together to justify this book .

This is Nina Levine once again completely taking the world by Storm. Not only do we have our, as expected, super hot super alpha male in Hyde. But we also have a strong and determined lead female character in Monroe.

Unsurprisingly there are some seriously hot sex scenes. I mean really – Hot-Sex Hyde has to be good for it right! I loved the snippets and the build up ready for Kings books, it’s gonna be amazing. As well as the touches in with Kick and Devil, really helps to keep you centred in with the group while still seeing the bigger picture.

There is definately something deeper in this book though. The struggle to pull yourself out from others’ expectations. To truly see yourself where you are, acknowledge it and still power forward is hard to do.

A compelling book with strong characters and fantastic development throughout. I’m still a bit tongue tied trying to find all the right words.

But the long and short of it is … she’s bloody done it again – prep the wine!

Vicious Review

Title: Vicious

Author: LJ Shen

This is book one of the Sinner Series.

Having, naughtily, read one of the later books in this series I already had a flavour of Vicious and Millie but it was nothing compared to their story.

Baron Spencer is fantastic! He is exactly how I hoped he would be! He is cold and calculating, damaged beyond repair. Or is he?

This really is the story of young love growing into itself. How some things change over time and others don’t. A beautiful take on a broken man finding love.

I am really looking forward to starting Defy!

Ruckus Review

Title: Ruckus

Author: LJ Shen

This is book 3 in the Sinners of Saint series.

Well, I guess I aught to have read the other books first but I’m a bit late joining the party so I’ve just jumped straight in part way through!

And I loved it! I love an enemies to lovers and a second chance romance and this has just enough of both to be completely captivating.

I really enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship. Rose’s tenacity and independence and Deans’ dogged determination and cheeky character are fantastic!

They are both so alike and so completely different it’s fantastic! It’s an absolute roller coaster of emotions and the story is gripping and keeps you turning the pages.

I am going to have to go back and read the other two books and CAN NOT wait to see what comes next in this fantastic series 😊

Edge of Regret Review

Title: Edge of Regret

Author: Molly E Lee

This is book 7 in the Love on the Edge series, see my other reviews here;

1 –

We first met Wade in the last book; Edge of Brotherhood, there was obviously something that went on with his ex but we didn’t really get a lot of details.

Well, we’ve certainly got them now! Not only what happened between them when they were younger. But a fab look into both their lives inbetween.

I really liked the flashbacks into Mackenzie’s history and how they blended into the story. We already knew a bit about what Wade has been up to and it was nice to see some of that from her point of view also.

They are a fabulous couple with a strong fight on their hands. She has been through a lot and he has been traumatised by lost love once already.

Another strong and driven female character that is great to read. Along with a slightly broken, cocky SOB. Match made in heaven!

We definately NEED to see a HEA for Casey next though, please!!!

The Steam Tycoon Review

Title: The Steam Tycoon

Author: Golden Czermak

A beautifully written story of life in another time. An almost dystopian era of those with and those without, mimicking some of the unfortunate things in our current society.

Written in his own inimitable style this story flows beautifully from one section to the next. This is not a love story but a story of love. Not only the love of two people but a greater love for society, of loving your neighbour as yourself.

We could definately do with a little bit of some of this in our time! There is plenty of dark to temper the light and such fun to be had in the grey areas. This really is a fantastic little book and a great introduction to the series.

Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Tough Love Review

Title: Tough Love

Author: Max Henry

Aww what a fantastic way to end such a tragic story! You’re definately gonna need some chocolate for this one ladies!

Starting off in a sterile hospital hallway we meet Amelia … distant, independent, damaged. A strong willed woman who has made her way in this life despite the lack of support from her family and friends after a terrible incident.

When her path crosses with a former lover, a lover who left her, emotions get tangled.

When life hands Evan North a second chance and he meets the one who got away, again, he is determined to not make the same mistakes twice!

A sordid history, a family torn apart. Can the woman she is now really let herself be vulnerable again? A fantastic second chance romance with a fantastic ending! This one will keep you glued to the chair and the pages turning til the end .

As ever, a fantastic read from Max Henry!

Excess Baggage Review

Title: Excess Baggage

Author: Laura Bernard

I loved this fun and lighthearted holiday romance story!

When Erica meets her long lost love checking into her holiday hotel it could be the start or a torturous week away. But with the help of some slightly less virtuous friends it turns into an amusing week away.

There are blunders and mess ups galore. When there are secrets, there’s gonna be problems. But for a holiday romance who cares, right? This isn’t just a holiday romance though, this is young loves dream. And what will happen when those secrets come out? When they have to say goodbye?

I was sat laughing at a few points in this book, it really is a fantastic read! Get a glass of wine, in the sun, and enjoy 😊

The Knight Review

Title: The Knight

Author: Bebe Reid

This is book two in the Stolen duet, read my review for book one here;

1 –

I literally say staring at my kindle confused by the world for about three days after finishing this book. I had no idea how to transition back into the real world and was stuck in this crazy place second guessing myself the whole way through!

I loved the ending! I can see how it could have gone differently, but I think it was perfect as it is, very true to the characters as they are.

Im looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book, here’s hoping it’s Z! There’s loads of scope with secondary characters to take this series far, if the author wanted.

Great description, fantastic storytelling. Another amazing book from Bebe Reid!
