Rendezvous Review

Title: Rendezvous

Author: KD Robichaux

This is a standalone novella linked into a series of shorts.

Well there’s definately scope to expand on this story going forward. This could have easily been expanded out into a full length story as there’s some fantastic foundations laid in the opening chapters.

We’ve seen a little of Brian in some of Kayla’s other books and he definately lives up to the hype. The chemistry between Clarice and Brian is hot hot hot and the story is a really easy read.

It felt a bit squashed in the ending, rushed/struggled to come in under the novella word limit rather than a full novel. Still a good read and hot scenes as ever.

Playing to Win Review

Author: Laura Carter

I loved the push pull in this book! I’m a big enemies to lovers fan anyway so this way probably always going to be a winner in my book but i genuinely really loved it!

I was really excited to read Brooks story and was expecting a little more filled in about his history but he was everything I hoped he would be; completely super alpha! That’s not to say that he can’t and doesnt concede when he’s in the wrong because he does, he’s awesome!

Izzy is a character that’s for sure. She gives as good as she gets and is clearly out of her depth on more than one occasion, not that it stops her ploughing through! Determined and driven she *will* conquer. But what does that look like once your heart takes over?

A great story with some very loveable characters. Looking forward to seeing what comes next 🙂

Guts & Glass Review

Title: Guts & Glass

Author: Skyla Maxi

This is part of the New York Crime Kings series, read my other reviews here;

Well … with one final book on the horizon I knew that this was going to be *another* cliffhanger. Doesn’t mean I like it but I knew it was going to happen!

I absolutely love this series! I love Jai, I love Emily and I even a little bit love skull. Another book that practically reads itself, it feels a little unfair that the author spent months writing and editing and sorting only for me to devour it whole in one evening 🙈 but I did, and I’m dying for the final selection!

The push and pull, forwards and backwards, she can she can’t, he will be won’t. We get more insight into some of the other secondary characters; Monique and Joel as well as Skull and a little more where he’s at.

I, as I’m sure many, have a little soft spot for Skull. Sure, he’s the bad guy and he has and does do many horrible things but underneath all that is this pained hurting man just trying to make the world hurt like he does. You gotta respect that I think!

I’m now, very impatiently, waiting for the final instalment of this series and absolutely loved this one. I can’t wait to be able to have a complete read of the whole series from start to finish!

Love Between Enemies Review

What is life without a little teen drama?

Heading back into uni life is fun. Another angle for the graduation party we enjoyed in book one and saw little snippets of.

It was so much fun to get to know Zoey and Gordon. So similar and yet so dissimilar, pushing each other to be better versions of themselves when it all comes to a head at graduation.

Life is closing in on them both rapidly and as their futures, hopes and dreams get tied up in reality, life gets heated.

I love an enemies to lovers and this story is fantastic! The pages literally turn themselves and before you know it you are half way through the book!

Definately a recommendation from me ❤

Collecting the Pieces Review

Title: Collecting the Pieces

Author: LA Fiore

Well, Iwas told that this is *the* book by L.A. Fiore to read but sadly, wasn’t blown away by it.

I has to stop a few times and come back to it. When I did come back, it was fun and a good read again but found myself getting stagnant again shortly after.

There is pretty much something in this book for everyone, there are millionaires, cowboys and bad boy bikers. There’s young love and the difference between that and the lust/love you can find yourself in later. There’s family mess ups and supportive best friends and everything inbetween.

For some reason it couldn’t hold me all the way through.

Imperfect Review

Title: Imperfect

Author: Willow Winters

I’m not really sure what to think of this one. The story ends on a predictable cliffhanger, with a section of the next book included at the end. I resit don’t like it when authors did this but I’m sure for other people it just adds to the suspense so I’m sure that’s just personal preference.

Just as I was starting to wane with the story the author threw a twist or turn in there which was good.

Mason felt a bit two sided. There was who is was with her and who he was the rest of the time. There was no reference or reflections of either side of the man on the other side of the fence which felt a bit fake or forced.

I dunno? I liked Jules, although, no matter how naturally submissive you may be there is no way you would react like that to some of the situations. Some of the time she was a complete push over, but i understand working through grief etc so to some of it i guess it’s understandable.

The poems at the start of each chapter are a beautiful touch but overall I’m left a bit ‘meh’ by the whole book, unfortunately. I really wanted to love it! I’m left a bit ‘meh’ by the whole book, unfortunately. I really wanted to love It!

El Santo Review

Title: El Santo

Author: M. Robinson

Loved the ending! Absolutely perfect!

This book takes you through the history of the monster we have seen in some of Monica’s other books. We start to see how his experiences have shaped and changed him. I’m really looking forward to the next instalment!

As we got further through the book I kept wondering why we were going through all this past and watching the percentage read go up and up thinking we were running out of pages! Now it all makes sense.

We all love a bad boy, and Damien is certainly a bad boy! You keep getting these little glimpses of the man that could be underneath, if only you could break through that exterior.

Amira is amazing, I love the character development in her. There is obviously quite a bit of time covered over the book and the change from a young girl into a woman is done in such a delicate way.

The writing is unsurprisingly fantastic and the story is amazing. Can’t wait for the next book!

Mr North Review

Title: Mr North

Author: Callie Hart

This is a standalone so no need to have read anything before hand.

What a fab story! I loved Raph; the handsome, mysterious recluse! Quirky and anti-social yet full of social niceties and genuine care – once you break through the ice cold exterior.

I thought this was just going to be a billionaire romance – girl meets boy, brings him out of his shell and they live happily ever after. Until we got about 35% in. Then things really got started!

This story is absolutely captivating and kept me turning the pages until the very end. You definately need to get a fan as the chemistry is off the charts hot! Interlaced with some amazingly deep and sensual moments it makes for a really swoon worthy hero.

I really enjoyed the book and the story is amazing but there are things I still need to know! For someone so career driven we never find out what happens with her exams and the bar. Again, for someone whose family experience has and continues to influence get life so substantially we get no closure on this either.

Perhaps these are things that may be picked up in another story/novella in the future. Either way the ending is great and ties lots of things up beautifully!!
