Collision Review

Title: Collision
Author: Evie Harper

This is Book 1 in the Portland Street Kings Series.

Well, this came up as recommended reading on Amazon and I’m always a bit dubious about whether they are going to be any good or not. On this occasion Amazon did great!

We start off in the past, there is enough information to get a taste of what went on in this childhood home without giving too much away, which is quite a skill and we come back to this at a later date.

So, you go out for a drink with friends, some numpty starts giving you grief and then a knight in shining armour comes to rescue you. Who wouldn’t think this is going to be a fabulous story? We have all wanted to have the confidence to give that knight a personal thank you, but as a one off our lovely leading lady does! A woman willing to take what she wants and get out while she still can. But can she?

Slater King came through Hell to get where he is. Dragged up through the dirt and the grit along with his brothers and sister, he has carved a safe area out for himself and his family. How long can that safety really survive in his world?

Its an interesting introduction to their world and I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops over the subsequent books. What a fabulous Alpha Slater is, I love his demanding ways! He loves fiercely and protects mercilessly – once you are within his circle. Such great twists and turns through this book and heading straight into book 2 – Fatal!!

Collision Blurb

When I was fourteen years old, I killed for the first time. That day I learned cruelty wasn’t only within the walls we had just escaped.

It hasn’t been easy growing up in the middle of a war. A struggle to find shelter. Fighting to protect our bodies against the corruption of the streets. Nobody cared about the street kids who had to beg and steal to eat.

Now we are the Portland Street Kings – A family forged through loyalty not blood. To get through this life of broken dreams alive, we’ve become hard, uncaring and merciless. We do what must be done to keep our family safe, we will harm those who stand against us.

We have it all, feared and respected by those on the streets. Then she collided into my world, and with her came demons from my past, back to haunt us all.
